INFORMATION ON THE PROCESSING OF PERSONAL DATA THROUGH COOKIES AND OTHER TRACKING TOOLS
pursuant to art. 13, Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR)
and the Guidelines of the Guarantor for the protection of personal data
of June 10, 2021 (provision no. 231)
1. GENERAL INFORMATION
2. WHAT ARE COOKIES AND OTHER TRACKING TOOLS?
Cookies are small text files that a website can send to your device (computer, notebook, smartphone, tablet, etc.) while you’re browsing. Cookies are typically stored directly on the browser you use. The same website that sent them can subsequently read and record the cookies on the same device to obtain various types of information.
In addition to cookies, there are also other tracking tools (for example, fingerprinting), which are techniques that allow the user’s device to be identified or their browsing history to be tracked. Unlike cookies, which are “active” tracking tools that the user can manage directly (by disabling or deleting them from the browser), fingerprinting is a “passive” tool that the user does not have any tools they can independently control. This website does not use fingerprinting techniques.
3. TYPES OF COOKIES
Cookies are divided into the following main categories:
Technical cookies
These cookies are necessary for the proper functioning of the website and to enable navigation; without them, you may not be able to view pages correctly or use certain services. This category includes:
- navigation or session cookies : guarantee normal navigation and use of the website;
- Functional cookies : allow the user to navigate according to a series of selected criteria (for example, language, products selected for purchase) in order to improve the service provided.
Technical cookies do not require user consent for their installation, as they are essential for the site’s operation. This information is sufficient for them, pursuant to Art. 122, paragraph 1, of the Privacy Code.
Analytics cookies
These cookies are used to collect information, in aggregate form, on users’ use of the website (number of visitors, pages visited, time spent, etc.), in order to optimize the site itself and the services offered.
Pursuant to the Guidelines of the Italian Data Protection Authority of 10 June 2021, analytics cookies can be assimilated to technical cookies – and therefore used without the user’s consent – if suitable measures are adopted to reduce the identifying power of the data collected, and in particular:
- are used solely to produce aggregate statistics;
- for third-party cookies, at least the fourth component of the IP address is masked (so-called “IP anonymization”);
- the third party undertakes not to cross-reference the information collected with other information it has.
Profiling cookies
These cookies are used to create user profiles and send advertising messages in line with the preferences expressed by the user while browsing the internet. These cookies require the user’s prior consent for installation. This website does not use its own profiling cookies.
4. COOKIES USED BY THIS WEBSITE
| Purpose of processing (Article 13, paragraph 1, letter c), of the GDPR) | The technical cookies used by the site are necessary to ensure the proper functioning of the website, enable navigation, and store user preferences (e.g., language, browsing session). |

The legal basis for the processing lies in the Data Controller’s legitimate interest in the proper functioning of the website (Article 6, paragraph 1, letter f), of the GDPR). |
| Retention period | Session cookies are deleted when the browser is closed. Functional cookies have a variable duration, but no longer than 12 months. |

| Lawfulness of processing (Article 13, paragraph 1, letter c), of the GDPR) | Google Analytics cookies are used with IP address masking (fourth component anonymization) and without cross-referencing with other data held by Google. Under these conditions, pursuant to the Guidelines of the Italian Data Protection Authority of June 10, 2021, they are considered technical cookies and do not require user consent. Legal basis: legitimate interest of the Data Controller (Article 6, paragraph 1, letter f), of the GDPR). |
| Scope of communication (Article 13, paragraph 1, letters e) and f), of the GDPR) | The data collected through Google Analytics is transmitted to and stored on Google servers. Google acts as a data processor pursuant to Art. 28 of the GDPR. The data may be transferred outside the EU/EEA in accordance with the instruments provided for in Chapter V of the GDPR (in particular, standard contractual clauses). |

| Scope of communication (Article 13, paragraph 1, letters e) and f), of the GDPR) | The data collected through third-party cookies is managed directly by the respective providers, who act as independent data controllers. For information on how to manage the information collected, please refer to the privacy policies of the individual services. |
